The recording evaluation report will include a detailed evaluation and recommendations on each of the following categories. Please contact the studio for a Sample Evaluation Report.
BREATHING: well-balanced breath support, lacking breath support, or pushed too much.
LARYNX: is position high, low, neutral; is position appropriate for the style.
COMPRESSION: not enough compression, balanced or over-compressed.
VOCAL REGISTRATION: chest, mix, head voice; are they balanced; is the register used appropriately for the style; which register requires more attention and what type of attention, etc.
RESONANCE: intensity/quality of the tone; is it squeezed, thin, muffled, brilliant, balanced, etc.
JAW, TONGUE, EMBOUCHURE (video evaluations only): is jaw relaxed and moves freely, does it move forward; is tongue retracted or not; is mouth opened too wide or not.
THE PHYSICAL BODY (video evaluations only): posture, head and neck alignment, are there any tensions in the movement, does the body lean forward/backward, etc.
STYLE AND PERFORMANCE: does the overall quality of the voice and performance match the style of the song.
SOUL: general “feeling” from the song; what emotional response does it bring out.
GENERAL COMMENTS: any other uncategorized comments and recommendations.
