Every culture has songs that have stood the test of time - songs passed from one generation to the next, carrying the stories, traditions, and spirit of the people who sang them.
This Center Stage. Songs We Carry invites our singers to return to those musical roots. Through traditional folk songs and other treasured repertoire from their cultural heritage, each performer will share a piece of the music that has shaped generations before them.
Though our languages, histories, and traditions may differ, these songs remind us of something we all share: the desire to tell stories, to celebrate, to grieve, to hope, and to belong. They are living reminders that music has always been one of humanity's oldest ways of preserving identity and connecting people across time.
As always, Center Stage is not about perfection or polished performance. It is a space for exploration, discovery, and sharing music that means something…
